Woden Valley Gymnastics's star Naomi Lee has won a World Cup bronze medal on the vault in Melbourne at the 2017 World Cup in March.
She competed in the qualifying event and secured third place for the final. Lee backed up her performance in the qualifications with two more consistent Vaults in the finals, posting a final score of 13.383.
She placed behind Rio Olympic Games vault finalist - China's Yan Wang - and fellow Australian, Emily Little.
Lee's success in Melbourne follows the third place on vault in the elite gym Massilia event in Marseilles, France in November last year.
Lee's coach, Tyrrel, said he was 'ecstatic' with the results. "To win two international medals at her first two international events representing Australia is just fantastic," Tyrrel said.
"Naomi is now well on her way to her goal of being competitive at the world championships."
Naomi added that she had a fantastic time competing in front of a home crowd in Melbourne. "I've been working really hard in the lead up to this competition, but it's [the result] still a surprise seeing as this is my World Cup debut.
"Moving forward this is really encouraging as I am aiming to make the team for the 2017 World Championships and the 2018 Commonwealth Games."
